February 25, 2003-Dallas, Texas
Executive Director Gordon Jago confirms the participation of UNAM Pumas of Mexico City and Tigres of Monterrey in the Super Group division for Dallas Cup XXIV.
Both clubs are long term friends of the Dallas Cup and to have them join the excellent group of teams already committed for the Super Group will be a huge attraction for the Dallas soccer fans. With teams competing from Europe, Canada, USA, Central America and South America, Tigres and Pumas will be determined to see the tricolors of Mexico raised in triumph at the Championship match on Easter Sunday.
Tournament Manager Randy Jones says, The eleven teams that are committed to the 12 team Super Group as of this date represent eight different nations. This will provide Dallas Cup fans with the opportunity to see the many contrasting styles of soccer from around the world. We expect to have a commitment from a 12th team shortly and when received a ninth nation will join the Super Group.
