A young women’s Tibetan refugee soccer team will be visiting North Texas from April 6-16, 2017 and has been invited to attend Dr Pepper Dallas Cup through the Dallas is Diversity program.
The team will consist of 22 young women between the ages of 15 and 19, as well as four adults who will accompany them. While in Dallas, they will be staying in the homes of a local girls’ team, as well taking part in some soccer training with local teams, visiting local schools, and enjoying Dallas area attractions.
Having the Tibetan team attend as guests will add to the history of previous teams invited to attend through the Dallas is Diversity Program, such as Northern Ireland, a combined Catholic/Protestant team, an Israeli team of Muslim and Jewish players, the Iraq National under 16 team and a South African team.
