Former International Soccer Stars Bring Their Teams To Dallas Cup XXIV

Brazils' Paulo Cesar Carpegiani And England's Gordon Milne Add To The Dallas Cup !

Former Brazilian star Paulo Cesar Carpegiani, and England International player Gordon Milne will be bringing their youth teams to Dallas Cup XXIV.


Paulo Cesar represented Brazil in the 1974 World Cup in Germany and played in 25 games for the Brazilian National Team.  He was a member of one of Brazils greatest club teams, Internacional(Porto Alegre).  Playing alongside former Brazilian stars Zico, Falcao, and Figuero, they won eight Brazilian League Championships.  Paulo Cesar retired as a player after spending his final 3 years with Flamengo (Rio de Janeiro).   His coaching career that commenced in 1981 has seen him coach at Flamengo, Sao Paulo FC and EC Cruzeiro, all top teams in Brazil.  His coaching career also lead him to Saudi Arabia and Paraguay with great success. In 2001 he founded Rio Grande do Sul Futebol Clube (RS FC) and Soccer University.  He brings R.S. Futebol Clube from Brazil to play in this years Super Group competition.


Competing in the same group will be Newcastle United from England.  Newcastle will be led by their Director of Football, Gordon Milne.  Like Paulo Cesar, Gordon played in World International soccer representing the England national team fourteen times.  He made his professional debut for Preston North End at age 19 and then joined one of Englands greatest clubs, Liverpool F.C., winning three Championships and the FA Cup.  He followed in his fathers footsteps graduating from a player to team management and was manager of Coventry City and Leicester City in England, Besiktas and Bursaspor in Turkey, and Grampus 8 in Japan.  He joined Newcastle in 1999 when appointed Director of Football.


With two such famous soccer stars leading the way, we can expect excellent performances from RS Futebol Clube and Newcastle United in the Dallas Cup XXIV Super Group competition.
