Dallas Cup and Alianza de Futbol Ink New Partnership Agreement

DALLAS, Texas (Tuesday, June 29) –
Dallas Cup, the oldest and most prestigious international youth soccer tournament in the United States, and Alianza de Futbol, the leading national organization dedicated to the support and development of amateur Hispanic soccer in the country, have inked a new partnership that will allow select teams to participate in the 2022 Dallas Cup.

The national champions of Copita Alianza in the Boys 14U, Boys 16U, Girls 16U, and Boys 18U categories will automatically qualify for the 2022 Dallas Cup, providing these teams the unique opportunity to play for the prestigious “Boot and Ball” championship trophy. The 2022 edition of the Dallas Cup will be played April 9 through April 17 next spring.

For the first time, the 2021 Alianza de Futbol tour will feature the Copita Alianza National Finals that will allow the best teams in the country to compete against each other, while at the same time enabling players to showcase their skills to top professional and college scouts. The local competition will take place in 10 cities across the country: Austin, Houston, Philadelphia, El Paso, Denver, Chicago, New York, Dallas, San Jose and Los Angeles.

In keeping with the tournament’s core values, the new partnership with one of the leaders in developing Hispanic youth soccer will not only help to further diversify the tournament, but will also contribute to the elite competition on the pitch that the tournament has always been known for.

Following the first ever cancelation of the tournament in 2020, the Dallas Cup made a strong return to the pitch in 2021. The 2021 Dallas Cup featured a record 252 competing teams from across the nation and included the return of girls divisions to the tournament with the inaugural Dallas Cup Girls Invitational presented by Mary Kay. In total, twelve new Dallas Cup champions were crowned on the nationally aired finals on ESPN3. The countdown to the 2022 Dallas Cup has begun as we are thrilled to accept the Copita Alianza national champions to the tournament and welcome back hundreds of elite teams from around the globe.
