Sunday night's match-up between Brazil's Clube Atletico Paranaense and Argentinos Juniors of Argentina featured two attacking styles of soccer that kept the excited fans in Lake Highlands Stadium gasping and cheering for 90 minutes and well into the first overtime period. Early in the first half Robenval was sent off after two quick yellow cards. Atletico struck first with a beautiful goal by Anderson Aquino. Atletico held the lead 1-0, and the second half opened with more back and forth attacking action. Argentinos Juniors evened the score on a shot by Maximiliano Aranda midway though the second half. Regulation ended 1-1, and the teams came out firing in the first OT period. The match ended on a great "Golden" goal by Thiago Maier who put a quick shot past the Argentinos Juniors goalkeeper to grab the win.
Earlier action saw Hartlepool United of England defeat MetroStars of New Jersey 4-1 in the U19 final. Tigres of Mexico bested Sockers FC Chicago 2-0 in the U17 final and CD Guadalajara of Mexico topped SASC Stampede 2-0 in the U16 final.
